It’s Not the Dems Fault, Blame the 1%

Union Orchestrates, Leads ’99% Spring’

Auto union orchestrates, leads ’99% Spring’ campaign, records show

From April 9 to 15, “100,000 Americans will train for non-violent direct action,” promises a new website called “The 99% Spring.” But while the 43 organizations co-signing a letter on the ragtag-looking site indicate the sort of leaderless resistance characterized by the Occupy Wall Street movement, a series of files The Daily Caller downloaded from the United Auto Workers website indicate that the organized labor powerhouse is behind the effort.

The files, downloaded Sunday, include campaign talking points, a fill-in-the-blank press release template for participating organizations and an advance look at the social media campaign the organizers plan for Facebook and Twitter.

Also included is a “FYI” letter designed for endorsers to distribute, complete with a blank space at the top of the list of participating groups. Filling in a given organization’s name lends the impression that it, not the UAW, is the campaign’s driving force.

It could also be the work of other collaborators as well.

The “99% Spring” campaign’s social media plan document included a note from its creators. “If you’re having trouble grabbing the images, feel free to email us directly,” it said, before listing the email address of community organizer Josh Bolotsky.

Bolotsky’s online biography was deleted shortly after The Daily Caller contacted him for comment, and then restored after TheDC asked him to comment on its disappearance. It describes him as “an online organizer, blogger, comedic performer/writer and occasional voiceover artist, currently serving as New Media Coordinator for Agit-Pop Communications and its Other 98% Project, when not serving on the national leadership team of Living Liberally.”

Responding to questions about the campaign, Bolotsky insisted that it “isn’t actually a UAW campaign or project.” He said “an independent tech issue led to some docs, both public and private, appearing briefly on their site.”

Bolotsky named activists at the Movement Strategy Center and the New Organizing Institute who he said were “[t]he chief co-coordinators of the overall project.” But searches on those organizations’ websites turned up no mention of the “99% Spring” project at all.

Online records show that the campaign’s web domain was registered by MoveOn.org Political Action, the liberal PAC started by Berkeley Systems founder Wes Boyd and his wife. Boyd’s software company was best known for its “flying toaster” screensaver, and for the “You Don’t Know Jack” trivia game series.

The “current campaigns” link on the MoveOn.org PAC website leads to a page that also does not mention the “99% Spring” campaign.

Spokespersons for United Auto Workers and its president, Bob King, did not respond to requests for comment.

“Agit-Pop Communications and its Other 98% Project”?Is that like  Agit-prop?
UAW.

When They Showed Me the Bill I Almost Fainted

But this is now Obama-land.

As it turns out, here’s what is actually happening. It’s not for the squeamish:

The senior lenders will get approximately $2 billion in return for their $7 billion in loans to Chrysler, taking a loss of $5 billion. And then they walk away; no future equity. Go home. Ouch!

The taxpayers get zero – that’s zero as in zilch, zip – for their $5 billion bailout. And, they and are going to pony up $6 billion more, in return for 10% of the future equity. Double ouch!!

The old shareholders? They are wiped out. Go home. At least this part is as it should be.

Fiat, the Italian Auto Company, is putting up no money in exchange for 35% of the future equity, presumably for their future management and for funding the start up of the New Chrysler. I don’t know if 35% is the right number, but at least it passes the snicker test.

So that’s it, right? $6 billion in new money from the taxpayers, $10 billion in loan losses from the taxpayers and lenders, the old stockholders wiped out and 45% of the future equity handed out.

But wait! Are you doing your math?? Where is the remaining 55% of the ownership?? Oh. Well you see it was given to the United Auto Workers Union. The majority of the company was handed on a platter to the UAW; and they had no money in the game, and are putting no new money into the deal. But they get 55% !!

“Online records show that the campaign’s web domain was registered by MoveOn.org Political Action”

MoveOn.org?

MoveOn is a Web-based, grassroots political network that organizes “electronic advocacy groups” of online activists around specific issues; raises money for Democrat candidates through rock concerts and other entertainment events; generates political ads; and wins young recruits through its appeal to the Net-savvy, MTV subculture.

(aside: I wonder how many of those unions got Obamacare waivers?)

…and apparently the truth doesn’t matter:

Things should never have reached this point.

Every day, the American Dream seems a little farther away. More of our grandparents are being thrown from their homes. Our mothers and fathers can’t retire because their pension funds tanked. Our brothers and sisters are burdened by student loan debt. For our children, budget cuts have resulted in crumbling schools, skyrocketing class sizes, and teachers being denied the supports they need to do their best. Our friends and family are being denied collective bargaining rights in their workplaces and are falling further and further behind. Our neighbors are being poisoned by pollution in our air and water.

The numbers are staggering: in recent years, millions of jobs have been destroyed, homes foreclosed, and an unconscionable number of children live in poverty.

And worst of all: this is no accident. It is a result of rampant greed—the deliberate manipulation of our democracy and our economy by a tiny minority in the 1%, by those who amass ever more wealth and power at our expense.

They want utopia and will never get it. That’s right! It’s not Obama’s fault! It’s not the Democrat’s fault that their stimulus “recovery Act” didn’t work! It the fault of “the 1%”.

Unemployment? Foreclosures? Gas prices? It’s not their fault!!!

HAHAHAHahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
