The Democrats left Wisconsin to hide and avoid voting. Do they have any idea of how foolish they look? They are “on strike” and shut down the government. Democrats.

There is some good reporting about it, and some very poor reporting. I wonder how many journalists belong to The Newspaper Guild, Communications Workers of America, AFL-CIO, CLC and IFJ or The National Writers Union and “stand in solidarity”?

In many places public employees are compelled, required to pay union dues. Is there any difference between that and a TV-mob character forcing someone to pay “protection” money? Not only that but the employer (government) collects the union dues by withholding the money from the employee’s pay.

I imagine the union makes it all sound good, they make many promises of job security, high pay, vacation time, health insurance, lavish pension for retirement, early retirement, etc.

How is it that some people think that salary, benefits including health care, job protection (requiring more people than necessary), early retirement, lavish pensions, health care for life are “rights”? I have the suspicion the union told them that.

There must be many public employees who have never worked anywhere else – they go right from college into the classroom and do not know any better.

I suspect their fellow employees, their friends are union members too. There is probably a camaraderie, a comradeship with fellow union members. How many times do they say they “stand in solidarity?” In their worldview, it’s “normal.”

I’ve been told that a long, long time ago there apparently were some cases where the employer could really exploit people. In that case I guess a labor union might have been good. Fast forward to today – the labor union is exploiting the employees for union dues in exchange for promises of pay, benefits and pensions. To a much larger extent, the labor unions are exploiting the taxpayer. When the employee union exploits the employer to the point of bankruptcy, how does that help the worker? Detroit comes to mind.

Unions “negotiate” as if there is a bottomless pot of cash available for worker’s salary, benefits including health care, job protection (requiring more people than necessary), early retirement, lavish pensions, health care for life. They make minor “concessions” and act as if they are making a noble, compassionate sacrifice.

The unions spend a lot of money to select and elect friendly legislators. They then promote, campaign for and contribute cash and manpower to the same legislators who then control public money. Legislators pass laws to spend public money on the union members – union members pay union dues – the union contributes to the legislator’s campaign. How is that even remotely legal?

At a minimum, Labor unions should not be allowed to contribute time or money to the campaigns of legislators who pass laws to spend public money on the union members, or contribute to any campaign.

“Collective bargaining” for salaries, benefits and pensions should be treated as “price fixing.”

Specifically, in Wisconson, there is no money to pay for the promises made by the union and the former politicians.

“Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has demanded that state workers contribute roughly 5.8 percent of their wages toward their retirement. He wants them to pay for 12 percent of their health-care premiums. Those modest employee contributions would be the envy of many workers in the private sector. “

People’s homes are being foreclosed on, underemployment is 19%, unemployment is 9.5% and they want the taxpayer to pay for ALL of their pension and health care premiums. According to the proposal, they have to pay only 12 percent of their health-care premiums… and 5.8 percent of their wages toward their retirement. They protest THAT????

It’s outrageous!

So the teachers LIE and say they are sick. They close the schools. The teachers make signs making the Governor look like Hiltler, and take students to the protest, where they whine and cry like spoiled little bratty children.

Fire the ones who lied about being sick.

Powerhouse student loan provider Sallie Mae says layoffs are imminent as a result of President Obama’s new student loan overhaul.

“This legislation will force Sallie Mae to reduce our 8,600-person workforce by 2,500,” Conwey Casillas, Vice President of Sallie Mae Public Affairs, said in a statement to Fox News.

Rule  = What the rules are when it comes to debating and voting a bill.

Hello… $500 billion of new taxes in this economy? Look over there, nothing to see here! Deficit neutral? Another con job.

Well, they aren’t going to vote for it, they are voting for a rule and are planning on “deeming” the bill passed. That’s one hellava con job.

They don’t have the votes in the house to pass the Senate bill. So they are using a con job called “reconciliation” where they pass the Senate bill and reconcile (fix) it later.

That’s one con job.

They don’t have enough votes in the house to pass the Senate bill. The Congressmen don’t trust the leadership to fix the bill as promised (what’s that tell you?).

SO they aren’t voting on the Senate bill. They are voting on a rule that (this is a twisted. contorted process) contains “fixes”  to the Senate bill, and “deeming” that Senate bill passed. They are not voting in the Senate bill, but are planning on pretending that it passed.

And now, on to the CBO score used to sell this snake-oil:

The CBO is supposed to “score” the bill to predict how much a piece of legislation will cost. Well, it all depends on what they are given for facts. President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and the rest of the confidence artists are claiming that Obamacare will be financially sound. It makes no sense.

Insure 30 million people, subsidize insurance for many more, shovel money into the education industrial complex and it’s going to be deficit neutral?

Oh, yes, they are nationalizing student loan banking at the same time.

CBO: Obamacare Would Cost Over $2 Trillion

The CBO’s most recent analysis is out, and it’s not likely to convince wavering House Democrats to jump to the Obamacare side of the fence.  Even the Democrats are granting that the latest version of their proposed health care overhaul would cost $69 billion more than the previous version.  According to the CBO, this version would siphon even more money out of Medicare, make even further cuts to Medicare Advantage, and levy even higher taxes and fines on the American people.

President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and their allies, are cheerfully citing “ten year” costs of $940,000,000,000.00 — apparently believing this to be a far more palatable figure than $1 trillion.  But even this colossal tally is like the introductory price quoted by a cell phone provider.  It’s the price before you pay for minutes, fees, and overcharges — and before the price balloons after the introductory offer expires.

For a variety of reasons, this tally doesn’t remotely reflect the bill’s real ten-year costs.

Huh. They are deceiving people. Do we really have 218 suckers in Congress?

Obamacare’s Imaginary Savings

President Obama and Democratic leaders in Congress touted the latest cost projections from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) as evidence that the bill they are attempting to ram through Congress this weekend is fiscally responsible. Some Blue Dog Democrats may try to use the latest projections as an excuse to switch their votes from opposition to support of Obamacare.

But if they do so, the only people they will be fooling are themselves — the public long ago saw through the gimmicks and sleight-of-hand behind the Democratic deficit-cutting claims. Voters know a runaway entitlement program when they see one, and in this case they got some crucial help from Rep. Paul Ryan and others. The bill the Democrats want to pass is a massive federal spending spree, and the claims that it will reduce the deficit do not stand up to scrutiny.

Five Reasons The CBO Figures Are Phony

as the Economist put it, “The CBO is required to pretend to believe many impossible things before breakfast.”

1. Medicare cuts

The Senate health care bill relied heavily on unprecedented cuts in Medicare spending increases. If implemented, this would have a huge impact on seniors’ care. But Congress has always balked at Medicare cuts. (See No. 3).

2. Delayed start

To make the budget math work, Democrats plan on delaying the start of subsidies and other costly provisions for several years. (The bill spends just $17 billion through 2013). The true 10-year cost is far higher.

3. The “doc fix” is excluded

The Sustainable Growth Rate imposes automatic cuts in Medicare payment rates to doctors.

For several years, fearing a revolt by doctors — and seniors — Congress has suspended those cuts. The original draft of the House health care bill included a permanent “doc fix.” But that ballooned deficits, so Democrats dropped it, even though everyone knows Congress isn’t going to slash doctors’ rates. The CBO has estimated a “doc fix” would cost $247 billion over 10 years.

4. Student loans are included

Doctors’ payments are excluded from the health bill, but major student loan program changes are included? Yep. The reconciliation bill will end student loan subsidies to lenders. The CBO says this will save $19.4 billion over the first decade, accounting for virtually all of the $19.8 billion in deficit reduction from the health care reconciliation bill. Reconciliation bills must cut the deficit by at least $1 billion. So, without the non-health care items, the health care reconciliation bill would not pass muster.

5. It’s a CLASS act

In the Senate health bill, a new, voluntary long-term care insurance program called CLASS accounted for some $72 billion of the deficit reduction.  The Community Living Assistance Services and Supports program is supposed to be deficit-neutral long-term. But Democrats are counting the upfront premium surplus in the short term and ignoring the significant operating deficits after 2029. Update: Democrats also are counting on projected additional Social Security revenues from payroll taxes on higher wages in lieu of lower health benefits. Again, those benefits have to be paid out.

But wait, there’s more! Let’s assume that the cost savings materialize as planned. It still makes the long-term fiscal outlook worse. Why? Democrats are using up a lot of tax hikes, spending cuts and upfront payment just to get barely better than deficit-neutral. That leaves future lawmakers less scope to bring the nation’s finances into order.

It goes on and on. They claim it doesn’t cover abortions. Wrong. They claim it doesn’t cover illegal aliens. They claim you can keep your doctor and insurance…

Oh, and all negotiations were going to be broadcast on CSPAN!HAHAHAHAhahaha!!!

It appears that the ends justify the means, the truth doesn’t matter. All they care about is a path to single-payer.

Democratic leaders are staunchly defending their possible use of a parliamentary maneuver to avoid a traditional vote on health care. Are they also getting ready to abandon a promise that lawmakers would have at least 72 hours to read and evaluate the language of the health care bill?

The bill is too big to read in 72 hours. It’s a nightmare.

House Democrats are moving ahead with a package of budget reconciliation changes to the Senate bill that would let members enact the Senate bill by reference. A Democratic staffer tells me House leaders tentatively plan to ignore or blur the 72-hour rule when the long-delayed final analysis is delivered to them sometime this afternoon.

The Rules Committee will meet on Saturday to set the rules for debate. Following the letter of the 72-hour rule would mean no vote before late Sunday, but Democrats have allowed themselves an out. “The Democratic leadership has declared ‘martial law,’” Poltico.com reports, “allowing leaders to bring legislation straight to the floor on the same legislative day.” That could mean a vote as early as Saturday, with a floor debate of just four hours. The public and members of Congress would have only 48 hours or even less to examine the bill.

WASHINGTON — A House committee has voted for fast-track rules for health care legislation, the first step toward a decisive floor vote on President Barack Obama’s sweeping overhaul.

The 21-16 largely party-line vote in the House Budget Committee Monday was a procedural but necessary step toward getting the historic overhaul before the full House at the end of this week.

The health care legislation has not yet been released and the Budget Committee was voting on a shell bill. But the action set off a 48-hour countdown toward a vote by the House Rules Committee, the final step before the bill can be brought to the floor.

So “1 day ago” a clock started and the House Rules Committee has 48 hours to vote. It’s Wednesday March 17, 10:17 AM eastern Standard Time

House Rules Committee Chairwoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY) says she expects the Rules Committee to meet on the health care bill Friday. Rules is the next stop for the bill to prepare it for the floor.

That would potentially pit the vote at Saturday at the earliest.

Also, they could still post the bill to the House Rules Committee website sometime before that. That would initiate the 72 hour clock…which is how much time Democratic leaders have said they will provide before taking up the bill.

House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) says “We are not going to start counting until we get (CBO) numbers.”

Their 48 hour countdown will have expired. A Saturday vote at the earliest? Rules, schumles they MAKE the rules.

When liberals do math, we can increase the number of people covered by healthcare insurance, increase benefits and reduce cost. Let’s watch:

Obama does math. Our president visited 57 states, 1 left to go.

Nancy Pelosi does math. 500 million Americans lose their job every month.

Joe Biden does math. “Jobs” is a three letter word.

And now, the gift that keeps on giving. Obamacare will reduce your insurance premium by 3000%.

If someone is paying the insurance company $10,000 they will send you $300,000 back to get a policy.

How many people are getting insurance through their jobs right now? Raise your hands. All right, well, a lot of those folks, your employer, it’s estimated, would see premiums fall by as much as 3000%, which means they could give you a raise!

HAHAHAHAHAhahahaha!!!!!  And people called president Bush names…

I’ll tell you anything to get you to like Obamacare. Free health care! Yeah, let’s slam this Obamacare bill through, whatever it is, without a bill out of conference, heck, without the House voting on the Senate bill. Who needs to read the bill anyway, it’s all full of numbers and stuff. We don’t understand that sort of thing. We want to campaign saying we “passed health care for the American People.”

Psssst. Don’t tell anyone we are taking over the student loan business and putting all those making student loans out on the street, unemployed. It’s a little baby step to Nationalizing Banking completely.

WASHINGTON — Buyers, beware: President Barack Obama says his health care overhaul will lower premiums by double digits, but check the fine print.

Premiums are likely to keep going up even if the health care bill passes, experts say. If cost controls work as advertised, annual increases would level off with time. But don’t look for a rollback. Instead, the main reason premiums would be more affordable is that new government tax credits would help cover the cost for millions of people.

So how is it that a tax increase counts as a cost reduction? What manner of math is this, pray tell? It not be of this world!
